SIMBOLOGIA-PUEBLOS-MAGICOS-1

A MIXTURE OF TWO CULTURES

Its name represents the union of pre-Hispanic tradition and modernity. Teúl derives from the Chichimeca term "Teotl," which means sacred or revered, and "De González Ortega" because General Jesús González Ortega spent a significant part of his life here.

Teúl is characterized by its beautiful colonial architecture, which includes impressive quarry gargoyles, colorful houses, and cobblestone streets that you can stroll under the shade of orange trees, creating a peaceful and friendly atmosphere.

In Teúl, you can find pine or copal masks used by the dancers known as "los morenos" during the festivities of the Day of the Holy Cross. These masks are detailed and colorful, and you can also find finely woven shawls and other clay products like pots and jugs.

Its climate is temperate, with an average annual temperature of 18ºC. In the summer months, it can reach up to 24ºC, while in winter, it can drop to 11ºC.

Teúl is located south of Zacatecas, 212 km (about 3 hours) from the city of Zacatecas, 204 km (about 3 hours and 15 minutes) from Aguascalientes, and 125 km (about 2 hours and 45 minutes) from Guadalajara.
