Stretching along 25 km of Playa el Verde Camacho, it was created in 1975 to observe and protect sea turtles.
This place is the most important nesting area for olive ridley turtles in the region and is also the habitat of hawksbill turtles and occasionally leatherback turtles.
The turtles come ashore one to three times a year from July to November to lay their eggs.
There are excursions that show the entire process from the arrival of the turtles to the hatching of the baby turtles ready to embark on their journey to the sea.
It has modest lodging facilities offered by the cooperative, as well as a variety of recreational activities.
Additionally, this place has the Clean and Sustainable Beach Certification and is also home to a wide variety of birds.
