It is a protected area of 10,000 hectares. The river flows through tropical jungle, waterfalls, canyons, coffee plantations, and sugarcane and citrus crops.
Within its course, you can find two archaeological sites: "El Cuajilote" and "Vega de la Peña."
It is ideal for rafting, as you can take a journey of approximately 25 km, starting from Puente Filo community and ending at Puente de la Palmilla. It is possible to do this activity accompanied by expert guides who provide high-security equipment to enjoy it with minimal risks.
Throughout the trip, you can enjoy beautiful tropical jungle landscapes, as well as a great variety of birds that inhabit the area.

Located in the community of the same name in the municipality of Tlapacoyan, approximately 80.7 km, about an hour and fifteen minutes from Papantla.
