The Yucatan peninsula has a large number of cenotes. In the area there are some that are good options for those who like this sport.

Among them we can mention: the Jaguar cenote that is located approximately 40 km from the Caribbean coast, its maximum depth, underwater, is just over 30 m (98 ft) and at the bottom there is salt water. Entering the cenote is something impressive. At first it doesn't look good, because your gaze has to get used to the darkness, but once you do, it's possible to distinguish a huge gallery with deep, crystal clear water. You will have to descend for 13 m (43 ft) until you reach the water.

Another option is the Caiman cenote, so called because it is common to see one or more of these animals. Only about 100 m (328 ft) from the main road to Nohoch Mul is the Seco cenote. This place looks magical. It was a quarry from which the Mayans extracted part of the material to build their temples.

In Punta Laguna, 18 km from Cobá, you can rappel into a cenote and enjoy its refreshing waters.
