It is the largest dam in the state of Jalisco surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

The ideal place to practice water sports especially fishing. Here you can catch tilapia, bass, shrimp, catfish and a mollusk known as "tegololo", which is famous for its good flavor and is only found here and in the state of Veracruz. It is also the venue for fishing tournaments.

In its surroundings you can go hiking and explore places as attractive as the El Salto and La Quebrada waterfalls. The best time to visit the waterfalls is in the rainy season when their flow increases.

It also is a good spot for bird watching, since more than 150 species of birds have been found in the area.

There is a hotel and comfortable cabins.
