This dam was built in the 19th century to act as a reservoir for water for the mines and homes of El Oro and Tlalpujahua.
The Brockman Dam constitutes a beautiful mirror of crystal clear water surrounded by pine and cedar forests, a beautiful natural setting in which magnificent country estates have been built.
It is the ideal place for hiking, mountain biking, boating and sport fishing. Here you can catch rainbow trout, catfish, carp and bass.
There are trails that surround the entire body of water that measures approximately 70,000 square meters. In addition, there is a path that leads to another lagoon called Victoria, which is surrounded by beautiful buildings.
Both lagoons and their surroundings are the habitat of hundreds of birds such as swallows, hummingbirds and ducks, among many others, so it is also a pleasant place for bird watching.
On the shore you can find some artisans offering their colorful products such as ceramic pieces, clothing and basketry.
