The waters surrounding the island are rich in marine fauna. Off the island's shores you can catch golden marlin, swordfish, wahoo, and barracuda.

During the spring and early summer, you can catch the big sport fish such as sailfish, swordfish and marlin. The rest of the year it is easy to find barracuda, mackerel, tuna and red snapper.

Within the island there are two lagoons, especially Makax, where you can catch snook and tarpon.
