In the area there are several options where you will find hundreds of species.
The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve has more than 350 species of birds, Isla Contoy, located two hours by boat from Isla Mujeres, is home to more than 150 species, while Isla Pájaros very close to Holbox , has more than 100 species among which we can mention the double-crested cormorant, red gazelle, roseate spoonbill, white ibis, frigate bird, white and gray pelicans, herons and pink flamingos, to name a few. All these places are true paradises for bird lovers.
The best way to admire them is by taking a rowing boat and sailing through the lagoons and canals.
There is also the option of going into the jungle to observe the unique species that inhabit the Yucatan peninsula such as: Yucatecan cotui quail, king vulture, tyrannous eagle, whistling quail, Yucatecan bag-eater, ocellated turkey and hocopheasant, among others.
