This lagoon measures approximately 9 km long by 2 km wide and has a depth ranging from 3 to 5 m.

Bordering the lagoon there is a boardwalk that consists of a walkway of approximately 200 m, as well as a breakwater with a lighthouse. 

On its banks of the lagoon is the Basílica de los Santos Reyes (Basilica of the Holy Kings) dating from the mid-seventeenth century.

It has restaurants offering typical food and a cultural agora a forum for various events.
