It is located right at the entrance of Huasteca Park, a mystical place full of stories.
To access the cave, you have to hike through trails filled with stones until you can contemplate this wonder, which is the silhouette of the Virgin Mary carved on a wall of one of the peaks, specifically Pico Pirineos. Along the way, you can admire lechuguilla plants, Victoria agaves, and the occasional lizard hiding among the rocky folds of the cave.
There are two options for this climb: the Traditional Route and the Extreme Route. The first one is designed for beginners and includes descending through a steep ravine and performing three rappels, with the highest one being 30 meters tall. The Extreme Route involves advancing to the ridge rock, which implies a 70-meter climb. From there, you'll have an unparalleled view of the entire mountain range, followed by a 10-meter rappel with free fall, giving you the sensation of flying through the center of the cave, something you'll never forget.
