Campeche

The Xtacumbilxunaán Grotto, very close to the town of Bolonchén, constitutes an impressive system of cavities created approximately seven million years ago, and are considered the most important caves on the peninsula due to the almost vertical arrangement of some of their chambers.

The first chamber can be visited without a guide. Along a path offers interesting scenarios of limestone formations, stalactites and stalagmites. To explore other secondary chambers requires some practice and experience.

It is located approximately two hours from the city of Campeche.
