There are several natural reserves and protected areas that can be visited in the Riviera Maya.
The Xcacel Sea Turtle Sanctuary – XcacelitoThe Xcacel Sea Turtle Sanctuary – Xcacelito
Located in a rocky bay surrounded by jungle and mangrove vegetation with a beautiful and wide beach, it is the place where sea turtles arrive to lay their eggs, so with the necessary precautions, tours are organized to see how the turtles lay their eggs and from July to November you can have the incomparable experience of releasing small turtles into the sea.
The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve
The reserve has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and has a coastal area with part of the Great Mayan Reef, mangroves, petenes, swamps, jungle, cenotes and 23 archaeological sites. You can access the Reserve by water through the Chunyaxché channel, traveling by boat through the channels that run between mangroves and enjoying the great variety of birds and archaeological remains that can be seen among the tall grasses and petenes.
Tulum National Park
The park's main attraction is the impressive archaeological zone. It is an area that has mangrove swamps with rich biodiversity, cenotes and beaches, where some white and loggerhead turtles come to spawn.
In each of them you have the opportunity to observe the flora and fauna of the place that includes: monkeys, flamingos, whale sharks, sea turtles, crocodiles and many more creatures in their natural habitat. You also can enjoy kayaking, camping, snorkeling and diving.

Hummer Jungle
