Tidepool Exploration
The Upper Gulf of California is famous for its extreme tides. Here you have the opportunity to explore and observe tidepools of the rocky intertidal reef in daylight hours or night time, where you'll get the chance to witness the astonishing array of rare and mysterious species like the predatory sun star, the shy two spotted octopus and the elusive tidepool shrimp. This tour is guided by an expert naturalist.
Trip to San Jorge Island
After a scenic trip of approximately 20 minutes by boat, you arrive at this small archipelago made up of rocks reminiscent of icebergs, where you can practice snorkeling or diving in the midst of dolphins, and during winter it is not uncommon to see orcas and whales, while that in spring you can see sea lion pups. Once you get to the island you get a pair of binoculars and enjoy bird watching because it is the home to hundreds of seabirds such as the booby bird, cormorants, and brown pelicans, among others. Then jump off to have a swim with the curious sea lions and take a peek at the amazing underwater sea life. Located just 28 km from Rocky Point.
Pinacate Adventure
Explore the El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site and located approximately two hours from Rocky Point. On the walk a naturalist explains the geological history of the region and its biodiversity. The tour includes visiting the Tecolote Lava Flow, the Cerro Colorado crater and El Elegante, one of the largest sea-like craters in the world, which makes you feel like you are walking in a lunar landscape. In addition, you learn about the first tribes that inhabited the place, the Comcáac and the O'odham.

Oyster Experience
This tour will make you an oyster farmer for a day, as you visit a cooperative that produces organic oysters and learn about the whole process. You also learn about the ecosystem. Beside the naturalist guide will give a lecture on estuaries of the region and walk together to marvel the beauty of this place. The cooperative is located half an hour from Rocky Point.
Destination Dunes
It takes place in the El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve, in the "sea of sand", located north of Rocky Point where you can appreciate the huge dunes and learn more about the geology and biodiversity of the zone. Get the chance to see some of the most bizarre species of the world that live in this arid ecosystem like: the horned viper, sand burrowing lizards, and carpets of multicolored flowers that cover the desert floor after rainfall. This trip requires a good physical condition.
Exploring the Morúa Estuary
The estuary is located half an hour from Rocky Point and in this adventure you visit the calm and crystalline waters and salt flats, habitat of a great variety of birds to learn about one of the most productive ecosystems on the planet. In addition, you can visit the cooperative that cultivates oysters.
Another option is discover the estuary by kayak, paddling its calm waters and enjoying the beauty and biodiversity.
