This cave is also known as "Cueva de Agapito Treviño" because locals say it was the hiding place of a kind-hearted thief who helped the poor.
The cave used to be a mine but is now closed. However, it has become the habitat of around 5 million bats of more than 6 different species, which can be seen every evening as they form an impressive black cloud in the sky. It is a truly natural spectacle.
