The Roma Neighborhood takes its name from the old town of Romita.

This neighborhood is located between Puebla, Morelia, Durango streets, and Cuauhtémoc Avenue.

The neighborhood is bordered to the north by Chapultepec Avenue, to the east by Cuauhtémoc Avenue, to the south by Baja California, and to the west by Insurgentes, closing the perimeter again at Chapultepec Avenue.

It is a settlement of pre-Hispanic origin, Aztacalco, and was located on an islet. Until 1920, it remained connected to Iztacalco through a canal that ran along the current Taller and Claudio Bernard streets.

Currently, it has a bohemian and intellectual atmosphere, with attractive buildings dating back to the 1930s and 1940s.

It also offers bars, restaurants, and shops with a unique ambiance.

Important streets include Álvaro Obregón, with magnificent buildings and a central median where art exhibitions are often held. Another interesting street is Orizaba, which features beautiful buildings and the Plaza Luis Cabrera surrounded by trendy restaurants and often hosting photography exhibitions. As for Colima Street, you will find a great variety of excellent restaurants there.
