One of the most impressive waterfalls in Chiapas with a staggered fall of about 120 m (400 ft). The San Vicente River, one of the mightiest rivers in Chiapas, gives rise to a series of waterfalls called: El Suspiro with a height of 25 m (82 ft), Ala de Ángel with a height of 60 m (197 ft), Arcoiris, Quinceañera and Velo de Novia, which is the most spectacular with a height of 70 m (229 ft).
These tiered waterfalls feature powerful white water tumbilig over rocky cliffs, intense turquoise mineral pools, and lush vegetation framing the shady hiking trails.
There are quite a few places to swim, so make sure you keep an eye out for the signs to figure out where you want to hop in.
Three platforms are available for viewing this magnificent waterfall. The highest platform is located extremely close to the falls. It’s also the smallest, with enough room for about 20 people. In the place there are two ecotourism centers with rustic cabins, restaurants, a camping area and a craft center.
The waterfalls can be appreciated on a journey along an ascending path of more than 1000 m in length that leads to several viewpoints where you can get to know the local flora and fauna where orchids and bromeliads of unique colors abound. If you like strong emotions there is a zip line that crosses the river and in one part you can enjoy the Velo de Novia waterfall from a very special angle.
