Cuenta con It has 15,000 hectares that include the municipalities of Zapotlanejo, Tonala, Zalatitán and Guadalajara.
The ravine has a predominantly deciduous tropical forest vegetation, which makes it the habitat of an enormous biological diversity that includes 53 species of mammals, 34 reptiles and more than 800 species of flora.
This is a favorite place of a large number of athletes who likes hiking because you can enjoy the impressive landscape offered by the ravine, whose depth is approximately 500 m. In the background runs the Santiago River and its tributary Río Verde, which is why it is also called Barranca del Río Santiago.
The path that goes down to the river is paved and at its beginning you will find a covered viewpoint with railings where you can admire the landscape. There are seven viewing platforms along the gorge.
During the journey you can see waterfalls, the great Puente de Arcediano, a bridge built in the 19th century and many natural landscapes.
It has beautiful gardens, large green areas, a restaurant with a large gazebo, open-air theater, covered eating areas, children's games and parking lot.

Location
Located 11 km away, approximately half an hour from Guadalajara, and you can get there by taking the highway towards Saltillo.
