Whale watching season runs through the winter, especially from January to March.

In these months there are several species that visit the coasts of Rocky Point such as humpback, gray, pilot and orca whales.

On the coasts of this beautiful destination it is also possible to see bottlenose dolphins and sea lions during the boat trips to the island of San Jorge, which is located 20 minutes from Rocky Point.

The Federal law requires vessels to remain 100 yards away from humpback whales and there are several efforts to keep whales safe and practice responsible whale watching.
