This avenue is another major thoroughfare in Mexico City.

The avenue connects areas such as Chapultepec Park, Tacubaya, and Polanco.

The layout of this avenue is largely due to the old Chapultepec Aqueduct, a structure that dates back to pre-Hispanic times and was built to transport water from the Chapultepec springs to the ancient city of Tenochtitlán.

This aqueduct was modified and improved during the colonial era, but it fell into disuse in the 19th century.

Currently, parts of this ancient aqueduct can still be seen along some sections of the avenue.
