Originally built for equestrian events, it was inaugurated in 1953 during the Pan American Games.
However, President Ruíz Contínez decided to give it a more social purpose and converted it into an auditorium.
Currently, it is the premier venue for music, hosting top-level concerts and shows.
It has a capacity to accommodate 10,000 people and features high-quality acoustics and facilities.
Adjacent to it, there are several theaters, a children's recreational area, and the National School of Dance.
