In this destination you have the possibility of fishing with four different methods.
These are: fly fishing, deep sea fishing, light tackle fishing and deep sea fishing.
Manzanillo is known as the capital of sailfish and the best season is from mid-October to March.
During the winter months it is easy to catch dorado and marlin, while in summer the fishing is for sierra, dogfish and tuna.
However, during most of the year when fishing in the open sea you can return to the coast with a specimen of swordfish, sailfish, yellowtail tuna, marlin, dorado, or a sea bass.
There are two important tournaments, one in November, and another is in February.
You have several boat options ranging from small boats to more comfortable yachts with which you can capture large species.
San Francisco is another good possibility for those who love fishing and is only 66 km west of Manzanillo, by highway. From this town, in the southern portion of Bahía de Navidad, you can get to Cocos beach, where there is a boat service to go fishing. In the bay it is easy to find smaller species such as the mullet and the dorado.
