This place is well-known for its stunning natural beauty and incredible cuisine.
The lagoon looks like a huge mirror reflecting the surrounding vegetation. When you take a boat ride you can explore some of its islets and amazing estuaries, which are habitats for hundreds of birds such as El Conchal, Horconos, and Mandinga, which flows into the sea. Especially during sunset, these boat rides become an unforgettable experience.
The lagoon itself is divided into Laguna Chica and Laguna Grande, and it is in the latter where the restaurant area is located, where you can taste some typical dishes such as chipotle fish fillet, arroz a la tumbada (rice with seafood), stuffed and gratin fish, shrimp cocktail, and fried tilapia, to name a few. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the rich food is accompanied by traditional "sones jarochos" music.
One of the distinctive features of the lagoon is the "Túnel del Beso" (Kiss Tunnel), which provides a unique experience as you pass through a "tunnel" or corridor created by a mangrove forest, something you will surely never forget.
You can also visit Isla de las Conchitas (Island of Shells), located in the middle of the lagoon. This islet is formed by shrubs and thousands of tiny seashells that have been washed ashore by the gentle waves. Walking on these tiny shell fragments provides a pleasant foot massage.
