The geological conditions and topography of the Cuetzalan area have generated one of the largest cave systems in the world, with an estimated length of 37,676 meters. This places it in the eighth position nationally and the 66th position globally. 

The main entrances are located at the Alpazar and Secán Caves in the community of Caxhuacan.

It is always recommended to hire a guide or specialized company since, despite the caves' apparent simplicity, they all have intricate mazes and challenges that are not easy for inexperienced individuals.
