It has become one of the best places for rafting due to its varied topography with rapids of different levels, mostly ranging from II to IV. In its upper part, you can find Barranca Grande and Río Miguelito, both of which are highly dangerous. They join together at Puente Pescados, an important point since from here to El Carrizal, it is the most commonly used section by rafting operators.

Another stretch that is widely used for rafting is the one from Puente de Pescados to Puente Jalcomulco.

This river has gained fame as one of the most technical, which is why international-level competitions are held here.

The landscape also features numerous canyons and interesting hills, ideal for rappelling.

Along its course, there are several interesting places such as Cerro Pizaltepec, where the ruins of the archaeological zone known as Cotlamani are located, Cerro de la Mesa de Olvera, Cerro Boludo, and Cañada de Acapan, to mention a few.

Moreover, you can soar through the air crossing the river on a zip line consisting of four lines.
