It is a beautiful body of water that is part of the hydrographic basin of the Necaxa River. Here you can enjoy fishing amidst a beautiful natural landscape. There are also establishments that prepare fresh fish.
On its shores, there are pleasant cabins that offer spectacular views of the dam. The owners of the cabins have been concerned about ecological care, so sustainable practices are carried out here, and cooking workshops are organized where you can learn how to make jams, atoles, and tamales with seasonal products.
In the places surrounding the dam, there are some flower stalls with a great variety and colors. In fact, this is why the town is known as Tenango de las Flores. Here you can find exotic plants, including some that are not found anywhere else.
