It is a protected natural area that includes the nine bays with diverse ecosystems.
It boasts approximately 712 species, including mangroves, savannas, wetlands, coastal dunes, thorny shrubs, semi-deciduous jungles, and marine algae, among others.
There are 130 mammal species such as deer, skunks, dolphins, orcas, and whales; 282 bird species such as peregrine falcon, white heron, kingfisher, and parrots; 87 amphibian and reptile species such as Gila monster, green iguana, and sea turtles.
It is an area where you can observe humpback whales from October to April, migratory birds from September to March, and sea turtles from June to November.
