It covers an area of 24,000 hectares and is located between the municipalities of Cuernavaca, Yautepec, Tlalnepantla and, mostly, Tepoztlán, north of the state of Morelos, and part of the Milpa Alta delegation, south of Mexico City.e ubica entre los municipios de Cuernavaca, Yautepec, Tlalnepantla y, mayormente Tepoztlán, en la zona norte del estado de Morelos, y parte de la delegación Milpa Alta, al sur de la Ciudad de México.

Its climate and vegetation vary from the semi-cold sub-humid with pine, oak and fir forests in the upper zone to the warm sub-humid with elements of tropical forest in the lower zone. 

Its fauna is varied and it is the habitat of animals such as: gray fox, squirrel, bat, wild cat and various reptile species. Regarding the number of birds, here you can find up to 70% of the birds of Morelos, making it one of the best places for bird watching in the region.

The park is distinguished by its capricious formations, including the Tepozteco hill with an amazing pyramid at the top. In addition, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the entire Cuernavaca valley and the Magical Town of Tepoztlán.
