Cumbres del Ajusco National Park is in the southern part of Mexico City and lies within the Sierra de Ajusco-Chichinauhtzin mountain range. The Protected Natural Area covers 920 ha where wooded vegetation predominates. The highest elevations are: La Cruz de Marqués with 3,930 masl and Pico de Águila with 3,880 masl.
The vegetation is mainly wooded and is ideal for various recreational activities, including mountaineering. The best season to climb Ajusco is from November to March.
Other attractions are the Tecpan pyramid, the Church of San Miguel Ajusco, the Church of Santo Tomás Ajusco and a didactic farm. In addition, you can visit a Tudor-style house with a replica labyrinth of one that exists in the province of Kent.
The park is highly visited on weekends to be in contact with nature and enjoy the Mexican appetizers offered by the restaurants located on the Picacho - Ajusco highway. In addition, you can appreciate the panoramic views of the city and during the winter season is among the few parts of Mexico City to receive significant snowfall.
