It is the last forest space with native vegetation within the municipality of Jiutepec. It is part of an area of lava flows, so its soils are fractured basalt.
Here is the Hueyapan Lagoon and a species of endemic trees known as Esenbeckia Vazquezii.
There is a 9 km circuit and trails that can be traveled on foot or by bicycle to learn more about its rich biodiversity such as white-tailed deer, opossums, cacomixtles, rabbits, roadrunners, chachalacas, and black iguanas, as well as hundreds of different birds.
Inside the park there is a park that offers a space for recreation and recreation with swimming pools and food stalls.
