The park covers part of the municipalities of Teapa and Tacotalpa and spans 15,113.2 hectares of high jungle.

The predominant vegetation is evergreen high jungle, and within the park, there are several caves and ecotourism centers, making it an ideal place for those who enjoy being in contact with nature and adventure.

Within the beautiful protected area, you'll find the Villa Luz waterfalls, which have strong cascades and pleasant pools perfect for swimming. The waterfalls are fed by sulfurous waters that flow from the Cave of the Sardines, a spectacular formation that has a section of its galleries submerged in blue waters with a milky appearance, resulting from layers of mud formed by the minerals in the water.

The park is home to 125 species of birds, making it a very attractive place for birdwatching as well. Walking along the trails in the midst of the jungle, accompanied by the birds' songs and the scent of flowers, is an adventure you won't forget.
