It is currently a ghost town.

Ojuela is a small village founded in the 16th century on the top of a hill.

Its mineral wealth attracted many people and brought prosperity until the mid-19th century; now only the ruins of adobe and stone constructions remain.

The suspension bridge is considered an engineering marvel, measuring 336 meters long and almost 2 meters wide, spanning a canyon nearly one hundred meters deep.

It was built in the 19th century to connect the main deposit with the smaller ones and transport metals to the town. It has now been restored and features a zip line from which you can enjoy the thrill of crossing the ravine at a speed of 50 km per hour.

Another adventure is exploring the Santa Rita Mine, descending 800 meters underground. Guided tours explain the history of the place and the minerals that were extracted. Along the way, you can see photographs, documents, and maps.
