It is one of the most peculiar beauties in the country, as it is a lake that turns pink in certain seasons of the year.

In fact, it is a saltworks that consists of approximately 7 km of pools where water is deposited. The salt extraction process is based on evaporation and takes about six months to complete, using filters.

During the last two months of this process, the bodies of water take on a pink hue, which results from the presence of algae, salt, and sunlight.

The pools are privately owned, and swimming is not allowed to avoid contaminating the salt production.

The best season to visit this marvel is from March to August when the pink color is most intense. Additionally, the best time to take photos for your social media is around noon when the sun shines directly.

There are mud deposit tours available, allowing you to cover your entire body with clay, providing a natural exfoliation and serving as a repellent for the horseflies in the area.

Keep in mind that there are no restaurants in this area, so you will need to bring your own food and plenty of water due to the high temperatures.

Don't miss the experience of visiting this breathtaking place. Take the Tour to Las Coloradas and Río Lagartos, where you'll explore stunning landscapes, observe beautiful flamingos, and spot amazing crocodiles. After the boat ride through Río Lagartos, you can enjoy a Mayan bath and cover your body with white mud.You will also visit Las Coloradas, a group of lagoons where the waters are dyed in shades of yellow, orange, and pink..
