This beautiful lagoon is located on the eastern border with the state of Puebla and is also known as Tequesquital due to the presence of tequesquite, a natural mineral salt used for seasoning food.
The lagoon is not very deep, so its size varies according to the seasons. It reaches its maximum size during the rainy season from June to October.
Migratory birds from the northern United States and Canada arrive at this lagoon, providing a spectacle for ecotourism enthusiasts.
