Thousands of seabirds visit or inhabit Chiricahueto Lagoon, considered one of the richest in fauna in the entire northwest of Mexico.

The landscape consists of mangroves, muddy plains, and dense vegetation. You can take a boat ride in the lagoon on airboats that navigate through the mangroves and dense reeds.

As resident birds, you can admire the brown pichihuila and white-winged ducks, diving ducks, gray herons, white herons, small herons, and thrushes, among others. Migratory birds include over twenty species that arrive from October to March, including Canadian geese, blue-winged and green-winged teals, red-breasted mergansers, and more.
