This natural area is located at the mouth of the Mezcalapa River and consists of bodies of water with hues that harmonize with the surrounding mangrove and palm vegetation.
This beautiful landscape is the habitat of hundreds of water birds such as wild ducks, herons, pelicans, and pigeons.
The place is ideal for picnics, camping, and other recreational activities.
In the area, you can visit beautiful bird sanctuaries or enjoy water sports in the various lagoons that make up the area. The Laguna de las Flores stands out for its size, the Mecoacán for its impressive beauty, the Machona and El Carmen for their mangroves, and the Tupilco where you can visit the Pantano Crocodile Sanctuary.
