The legendary Tule tree is located in the atrium of the Santa María de la Asunción temple. Experts claim that this tree is over 2000 years old. It stands at a height of 40 meters and has a trunk circumference of 42 meters, making it one of the largest and oldest trees in the world.

It weighs approximately 509 tons. The trunk and branches of this cypress tree resemble figures of animals, fruits, and characters, which the local people have named as "The Elephant," "The Lion," "The Three Wise Men," "The Deer," "The Pineapple," and "The Fish," among others.

More than 500 people can seek shelter under its shade, and 30 individuals holding hands can barely reach around its circumference.

The Tule tree festival takes place on the second Monday of October.
