It has an extension of 37,302 hectares and includes the Sierra Norte de Morelos, in the southern region of Mexico City and southeast of the State of Mexico. This is a region with great biodiversity and a center of endemism. It is estimated that it has 785 species of terrestrial plants and 68 aquatic ones. Its vegetation is mostly forest where there are pines, oyameles and oaks.
About the fauna, there are 132 butterflies species, 47 dragonflies, 56 reptiles, 24 amphibians, 59 mammals and 142 bird species have been registered. So it is a very good place for those who want to explore the flora and fauna of the region.
