A city that dates back to colonial times.
Currently part of the Lagunera region along with Gómez Palacio and Torreón.
It has a picturesque main square with a beautiful gazebo, flanked by a pedestrian walkway, the neoclassical Municipal Palace, a 19th-century building, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, a neo-Gothic style building. The Moorish Clock, which seeks to emulate a minaret in Haifa, Israel, is also a notable landmark.
Other buildings that characterize Lerdo City are the Chalets, such as the Rico family's, the Necochea's, the Gorosave's, and the Ríos', to mention a few. They are all beautiful brick or stone constructions that speak of the early 20th century.
The Francisco Sarabia Museum is dedicated to the memory of this aviation pioneer who broke the speed record on the Mexico-New York flight in 1939.
In the surroundings, you can visit the Cañón de Fernández State Park, the Grutas del Rosario, and the Francisco Zarco Dam.
