This town owes its name to the large number of cenotes that exist both in the town and its surroundings. According to the locals, there are over 130 of them, many of which are deep in the jungle, so it is necessary to seek the help of farmers to visit them.

Among the open-type cenotes, the notable ones are Catak Dzonot, Itzamná, Mul'Dzonot, and Kaipech. These are all ideal places to cool off in their waters and also for diving.

Other cenotes in the area that you can also visit are Kaipech, Xayín, and Yook Chac, a beautiful private cenote with caves and Mayan vestiges.

The Usil cenote is one you can't miss, as it is a semi-closed cenote inside a cave. You have to descend a staircase to reach the beautiful turquoise waters. It measures 20 meters in length and 6 meters in width. Due to its enormous depth of approximately 112 meters, it is ideal for diving. This cenote has a story that speaks of an elderly man who is considered a guardian of the cave.

Not far away is Cenote Xooch, which offers palapas and is a very attractive place for cave diving.
