Central Mexico
Its name derives from its resemblance to the famous tourist destination of Cancun.
It's a white sandbank that doesn't quite reach the status of an island, surrounded by crystal-clear waters that allow you to see various colorful fish, making it an authentic underwater paradise that you can enjoy while swimming or snorkeling.
This little paradise was formed in 1988 as a result of Hurricane Gilberto, which displaced tons of sand to this area where there were previously only coral formations.
The water level is not very deep, so you can wade into the water for a good distance, enjoying the scenery.
This is a protected area, so you have to visit it with a guide, and your stay cannot exceed one hour.
