This is an open bay that is bounded by Punta Garrobo and Morro de Petatlán. However, in the rainy season when the level of the lagoon rises, it joins the sea. 

Next to the bar is a small town with some rustic restaurants, better known as enramadas, that offer delicious food. 

Barra de Potosí Beach

La Barra has a beach that has an extension of about 15 km and is known as Playa Larga, which is framed by large palm trees and is characterized by its deep blue sand that has this color because it contains a good amount of iron. On this beach you can go horseback riding, walk and contemplate the beautiful landscapes, or savor fresh fish in some of its informal restaurants.

In front of this beach are the famous Morros de Potosí. 

Barra de Potosí Lagoon 

The lagoon measures about 18 km and is home to more than 212 species of birds and a sanctuary for local fauna. Here you can take a boat ride and explore all its corners of its magnificent mangrove swamp that includes red, black and button mangrove where hundreds of birds live, and even crocodiles, among many other reptiles.

Small boats and kayaks offer rides to admire the beauty of this unique place.
