Colotepec is a small community at the mouth of the river with the same name. With its mangrove vegetation, it has been considered a sanctuary for wildlife, offering beautiful landscapes where the lagoon meets the sea.

It's a place that can be explored on foot, by bicycle, or by boat in the Palma Sola lagoon area. 

In this region, you can see 37 bird species that inhabit the area, and during the months of May and June, Barra de Navidad is visited by 27 species of migratory birds. In addition to birds, you can see impressive crocodiles in their natural habitat.
