It is nestled in the northeastern mountains, amidst oak, fir, and cedar forests, on the way to Cuetzalan. 

The waterfall forms natural pools, and in the area, it is not the only cascade you can enjoy. Specifically, this waterfall has a drop of over 30 meters sliding down a stone wall. 

During the journey, you can admire enormous trees growing along the Apulco River, which runs at the bottom of a canyon with steep walls. Due to the climate and humidity, mosses and lichens have formed amidst lush vegetation.
