It covers 57,815 hectares and spans thirteen municipalities, encompassing various ecosystems where you can admire waterfalls, canyons, and caves. Its name comes from a hill that people find to have a human appearance.
Within the reserve, there are over 91 species of medicinal plants, 18 mammal species, 153 bird species, and 21 amphibian and reptile species.
The reserve features a mountain range that rises up to 800 meters above sea level, crossing the basin of the Atoyac River, the most important river in the state.
It is a very attractive place for adventure lovers. One option is to practice canyoning in the Barranca de Tepeyola, although it should be noted that it presents a high level of difficulty. Alternatively, you can take a pleasant walk along the banks of the Ahuehuetla River, passing by pleasant springs until you reach the Salto Waterfalls.
