Jonotla's Rock has been considered a sacred place by the Nahuatl and Totonac cultures, and it has been used for rituals since pre-Hispanic times.

It has a height of 800 meters above sea level and is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Sierra Norte. From its strategic location, on clear days, it is possible to see the Veracruz territory, even as far as the Gulf of Mexico.

It is located a few kilometers from Cuetzalan and is surrounded by beautiful scenery with waterfalls and rivers. Additionally, there is a sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, built where a 12-meter-tall carving of the Virgin was discovered.
