The park is located on the hill of the same name, which has an approximate altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level. This is a suitable place for countryside walks and has become one of the symbols of the city of Xalapa.
Within the park, 12 species of amphibians, 19 species of reptiles, 257 species of birds, and 30 species of mammals have been recorded.
At the top of the hill, there is a concrete pyramid used as a mausoleum that houses the remains of the founders and martyrs of the agrarian movement.
It also has a spiral viewpoint, from where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city of Xalapa and its surroundings.
If you like animals, you can visit the Veracruz Fauna Museum, which is also located at the top of the hill. In its eight rooms, you can learn more about all the animals in the region.
