Templo de Santa María de Gracia
This church is the only remaining part of the spacious convent of the same name.
This is the site where the Church of San Miguel stood from 1549 to 1618, the first cathedral of the city of Guadalajara.
Its construction began in 1661 and gradually improved until achieving the austere and beautiful appearance it has today.
In 1694, the bell named Santa Maria de Gracia, the largest of all, was installed. In 1711, another smaller bell was added, and in 1740, the other two were added.
The interior has a single nave with ribbed vaults and arches decorated with raised flower motifs, with Corinthian-style altars adorned with vegetable-shaped ornaments.
Next to it is the majestic Degollado Theater.
