Mountain ranges that extend parallel to the Gulf of California from the south of Concepción Bay to the north of La Paz Bay, covering an area of 16,242 km2.

The fauna of the Sierra de la Giganta-Guadalupe is made up of around 323 species of vertebrates, of which 27 are endemic and 56 species are in danger of extinction. Of these, there are 41 species of mammals and 238 species of birds with two endemic species. The highest percentage of endemics are reptiles, with 39 species and 12 endemic, which are distributed along the mountains in canyons, rocky conglomerates and in oases.

As for the amphibians in this region, there are 3 native species: the pinto toad, the spur toad, both distributed both in the oasis and in the desert scrub, and the little frog that is located in the oasis or intermittent streams.

One of the most emblematic fauna species in the area is the bighorn sheep, but there are also coyotes, raccoons, desert squirrels, hares and bats, among many others.

Its maximum altitude is from the peak called La Giganta with an altitude of 1,680 meters above sea level.

In the Reserve there are also cave paintings and cultures that have kept their traditions and culture.

It is a place that still keeps many secrets among its canyons and hills.
