This reserve includes the states of Colima and Jalisco and has an area of 139,577 hectares. On the Colima side, it covers the municipalities of Comala and Minatitlán.
The Reserve includes several types of vegetation, although the forest predominates, as well as a rich biodiversity. In this territory you can find 110 mammals species, 80 reptiles, 23 of amphibians and 354 birds species.
