This is the name of the impressive elevation of Cerro de San Pedro Mártir, the highest in the entire Baja California peninsula with an altitude of more than 3,096 meters above sea level.
Its surroundings are wooded and dominated by conifers and giant firs. Within the common fauna of the place are: pumas, deer and bighorn sheep, among others.
In its lower parts there are some streams where you can fish some trout.
Due to the clarity of its skies, it is considered one of the best places in Latin America for astronomical observation, which is why the San Pedro Mártir Astronomical Observatory was built here.
During the winter it remains covered with snow.
To get there, take the Transpeninsular Highway following the instructions to get to the observatory. If you like adventure you can use an all-road vehicle and take some of the gaps that connect to this beautiful place.
